Prohibited and restricted goods

Kenyan law and our partners' carriage rules decide what can travel. Prohibited goods cannot be shipped at all. Restricted goods can travel only on some routes or with extra steps. Every quote checks your items against these rules.

Prohibited

  • Used underwear (clothing)

    Second-hand undergarments are prohibited by the Kenya Bureau of Standards.

  • Replica (counterfeit goods)

    Counterfeit and replica branded goods are prohibited under the Anti-Counterfeit Act.

  • Currency and precious metals

    Currency, bearer instruments and precious metals are prohibited.

  • Drugs and medicines

    Narcotics, prescription medicines and drug paraphernalia are prohibited.

  • Obscene material

    Obscene and pornographic material is prohibited.

  • Weapons

    Firearms, ammunition, knives and weapons of any kind are prohibited.

  • Ivory (wildlife products)

    Ivory and wildlife products are prohibited.

Restricted

  • Devices with batteries

    Devices with built-in batteries cannot fly on consolidated air.

  • Perfume (beauty and personal care)

    Perfume is flammable and cannot fly on consolidated air.

  • Aerosol (liquids)

    Aerosols and pressurised cans ship by sea only.

    Not on: air consolidation, express courier

  • Liquids

    Liquids ship by sea only.

    Not on: air consolidation, express courier

  • Loose lithium batteries and power banks

    Loose lithium batteries and power banks cannot fly on consolidated air. Use express courier or sea.
